Very few bikes are beyond our expertise. This is one of them : Photo Mad T

WHO'S LOOKING AFTER YOUR BIKE?
Yes, there IS a bit of a wait to get your bike into our tech shop. No, we are not the cheapest place in the city when it comes to our service department because we firmly believe that you do indeed get what you pay for. We stand behind every nut we tighten, screw we turn and wheel we true.

Dan, James, JL and their crews have one thing that separates them from many mechanics in the business: They care. No matter where you bought your bike, what brand it is, mountain or road, rest assured they'll take care of it with the utmost respect (ok, maybe they might swear at it now and then) and (here's that word again) CARE.

Wondering what's involved with all of our service packages? Here's a little Synopsis of what's included with each of our service packages:

MINI TUNE
The "mini-tune" is the mechanical equivalent of a doctor's regular check-up. If you don't use your bike a great deal, the Basic Service is all you might require, so you will gain the peace of mind that comes from knowing that your gears change smoothly, and that your brakes work fine. The mechanic will not undertake any investigative work at the Mini Tune level. He will however, highlight any obvious problems that would fall out with the scope of the Basic Service when he checks the bike over with you. We will also advise you if any parts need replaced. Naturally, the price of any new parts fitted will be added on to the price of the mini tune.

COMPLETE TUNE
The Complete Tune-Up is the mechanical equivalent to a two week visit to a health farm. For the average user, we recommend this comprehensive service where we check over the whole bicycle. The Complete tune comes with a one year manufacturer's defect warranty on new parts fitted. Again, any new parts required will be highlighted by the mechanic when the bicycle is received, but are not included in the price. New bikes purchased from Gord's receive one free Complete Tune every year for the first 5 years of ownership.

MAJOR TUNE
The Major Tune is the mechanical equivalent of a complete makeover. If you ride every day, we recommend that you treat your bike to an annual Major Tune Service. Similarly, if maintenance has been minimal over the years, a Major Tune will certainly help in making your bike ride like new again. In a Major Tune most parts of the bicycle are overhauled, new brake and gear cables are fitted, and all serviceable bearings are stripped, re-greased and new balls fitted. The Major Tune comes with a one year warranty on new parts fitted. Again, the cost of any new parts required (including your choice of cables and bearings) will be highlighted by the mechanic when the bicycle is received, but these are not included in the price.

COMPLETE OVERHAUL
The complete overhaul is something every serious rider should do at the very least every couple of years. What is involved with a complete overhaul is nothing short of us taking your bike completely apart, thoroughly cleaning every component and then painstakingly putting it back together to its original glory. While we can't make LX components work like new XTR stuff, we can assure you that your bike will ride like new again once we're done. in a complete overhaul all parts of the bicycle are overhauled, new brake and gear cables are fitted, and all serviceable bearings are stripped, re-greased and new balls fitted. The Overhaul comes with a six month guarantee on work done as well as one year warranty on new parts fitted. Again, the cost of any new parts required (including your choice of cables and bearings) will be highlighted by the mechanic when the bicycle is received, but these are not included in the price.

Keep in mind that when we perform an complete overhaul there's a 100% chance that parts will be needed so be prepared to discuss all your options with your mechanic who will supply you with a comprehensive list of options BEFORE we start any work on your bike.

$19.95
TUNE-UPS

Don't get us started on $19.95 tune-ups... How some folks think you can get a complete, quality tune-up performed by a qualified mechanic using more than a rubber mallet and a large flathead screw driver for $19.95 is mind boggling. Let's be clear on this one: While we're pretty aggressive on making sure we're not more expensive than the other place, when it comes to service, we unfortunately don't price match tune-ups. Our caring technicians are professionals, they are highly skilled, honest and hard working. They are proud of their level of craftsmanship and frankly, that kind of work costs money. Not a ton of money but certainly more than $19.95. Check the link below for our surprisingly affordable service rate sheet.
KNOWLEDGE
IS POWER

At the risk of sounding immodest, permit me to say that it's a fact: We have a pretty stacked team when it comes to pertinent and passionate knowledge about the sports we sell. We may not know the molecular density of every frame we sell but when it comes to tangible knowledge, we're not too bad. Whether
it be doing a grab off
a tabletop at Fernie,
riding Spruce Woods
to standing around waiting for a bus in February, there's SOMEONE in the store that's been there, done that. Whatever the endeavor, novice to expert: We're pretty confident we'll be able to help you achieve your goals. Just pop on by, let us know what your goals are, what your budget is and we'll do our very best to make it happen for you.

GORD'S PICKS UP SCOTT
It just made way too much sense. The emergence of Scott Bikes as a clear front-runner in the bike market as Europe's largest bike brand and simply because its bikes are so chock-full of tangible technologies ... and the fact that they simply ride like stink... Like we said, it just made sense.

Scott has been in the bike business since day one. Building fun, sexy, technically superior bikes that convey a passion for excellence in design in a way very few bike companies can match. Sure, there are those companies that eat, sleep, and drink engineering, pushing concepts on folks that no-one ever asked for to begin with (lefty, anyone?)... Scott is different. In a good way. Starting with the people who look after Scott in Canada led by bike guru Andrew, you get a sense these people deeply care about doing it right.

Drop in, check out theses great mountain bikes... you'll surprised by just how affordable these bikes are and just how sweet they ride.

THE RIDE
We've said it before: It's all about the ride. The ride to Seven Eleven, the ride to your buddies house, the ride we call Ingolf, the ride at Panorama, Fernie, The Seine River, the ride through the monkey trails at Assiniboine Park, the ride with your 30 favorite buddies or the ride with your daughter.

Yes the bike is important. But more important than the bike is the smile on your face much like the smile on everyone's face at the last Gord's Bike Club Wednesday Night Ride. What a tremendous ride that was, what a tremendous group of people we have on our rides. If you haven't been on one yet... Now's the time. ressure and as much laughing as possible... All the while challenging ourselves.
