LES PHOTOS
So here you are, looking for that Photo Album that we speak of. If you're a member of our MTB or ski clubs and have a username and password, scroll all the ay down, click on the 'GO' button to your right and get right to it.

In out album, we have all the pictures we take on everyone of our outings. Saying we have a lot of pictures on here is putting it mildly... at last estimate we were at 80 gigs of photos and movies.

It all started with Matt Goyer (mattgoyer.com) a good friend and computer aficionado (nice word for super geek) and JF (the guy next to Nick above) taking pictures here and there... Enter uber-camera-guy Gavin... And that's when everything spun out of control. We got better, smaller cameras, larger memory cards and Matt started hosting out pictures on a server... That's when we happened upon a new friend, Dean II (as we'll refer to him from this point forth) Dean II happened to have a knack for movie editing... So movies we started taking... and here we sit with 80 gigs of pictures and movies on this thing. Huge.

As you know (or are about to find-out), our Photo Album is now password protected due to privacy issues, weirdo sightings and copyright concerns. Since the picture taking has become such a large part of our mountain-bike and ski & snowboard experience well... It came down to either curtailing our snap shots or do something like this. We obviously chose the latter. And almost everyone is happy. (because you do know that some people, you just can't make happy... They're simply miserable. they are a big reason this thing is password protected in the first place).

I know this is going to peeve some people off, us putting this password thing up, already a few people have sent us nasty Emails... So let me repeat myself: All pictures are the copyrighted property of the people who took them and of their subjects. They are not public property and we have no legal obligation to make them available for public consumption. (we talked to lawyer folk and they concur).

So here's the deal; People who we've taken pictures of, parents of people who we've taken pictures of, family members, Gord's Mountain Bike Club members and Gord's Ski Club Members have automatic and unrestricted access to the photo album (only fair since all of the pics are of them, and by them) All you have to do is Email JF@Gords.com and he'll supply you with credentials... Should you, John Q. Internet Surfer wish to peruse our albums, it's simple, join our MTB club! It's a measly $49.00 a year. includes a Gord's water bottle and some great deals AND it gets you a username and password for our photo album. NO WE'RE NOT SELLING ACCESS TO OUR PICTURES (as some erroneous individual once eluded to) We're just making sure privacy issues are respected.

Password in hand, Hit the GO button or click HERE to continue on to the Photo Album... But be forewarned, some pictures (like the one of Geoff skiing) may prove offensive to some viewers.

2007 RETAILER OF THE YEAR
Mike and JF were testing Nordica skis at Sunshine Village in a foot or so of fresh snow when we got the news.

Every year the Snow sports Industries America honors a retailer from each territory, in Canada and the US. This year we are very much honored that they chose Gord's Ski and Bike as the recipient for Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Makes us feel all warm and fuzzy inside. "SIA is pleased to announce the latest winners of the SIA Canadian Snow Sports Retailer of the Year awards.  Each of these awards recognizes those retailers and reps that have consistently made a significant impact in the snow sports industry.  The Canadian awardees hail from six territories.  All winners were voted on by suppliers and reps in the snow sports industry." Needless to say we're quite honored that our hard work and dedication to doing it right by you has been recognized.

Of course this would not have been possible without the unwavering support of our amazing customers and our tremendous reps and suppliers... Not to mention our sensational staff. We read about this in a general communique from the SIA and we're still wondering what kind of toaster they give out with this distinction. Hopefully it's a four-slice model.

If you haven't been to Gord's in a while, drop on by, see what all the hubbub is about. We'd love to get to know you and show you around our new second location on Kenaston as well as our newest addition to the family, our brand spankin' new Donald Street location, situated almost across the street to the old one at Number 2 Donald. Drop on by, say hi, stay a while, buy stuff, we'd love to see you!
