	. SHERPA ADVENTURE GEAR .In the summer of 2008 It was quite by accident that we came across an amazing brand of clothing, an obscure company who's product and values struck a chord deep in our collective imagination. The company was called "Sherpa Adventure Gear" a small yet very sophisticated outerwear brand that had massive cool factor and tremendous positive karma behind it. A company that offered outstanding, high quality, high value product... We were hooked. Here's how the owner puts it, it's definitely worth the read. "Sherpa Adventure Gear was inspired by sheer chance in 2003. Back then, my family and I owned an import clothing business. In May of that year, while walking down the streets of Manhattan, a magazine issue commemorating the 50th.anniversary of the first ascent of Everest caught my eye. The craggy lines of the familiar face staring at me from the cover belonged to none other than my Uncle, Ang Gyalzen Sherpa. I was amazed to discover that he was one of the original Sherpa on Sir Edmund Hillary’s celebrated expedition in 1953. Today, every climber in his heart is grateful for having a Sherpa companion on the treacherous slopes of the Himalayas. For it is the Sherpa who makes the route, carries the load and lays the rope all the way to top and back. They risk their lives for a pittance and smile through the life threatening ordeals on the flanks of Everest and surrounding peaks. As I read the sad story of the many unsung Sherpa heroes like my uncle who live in total anonymity—and often utter poverty—in the shadow of Everest, I felt a powerful urge to share the Sherpa story with a wider audience. 	.. LADIES & GENTLEMEN, FIT IS KEY Leanne, [one of our clothing gurus] wrote this little blurb: From goggles, helmets, jackets or gloves. It's always about the fit. Half of being comfy is having a well fitting garment. Ski/board clothing is no exception. One of my pet peeves is trying to sell a piece of clothing to someone and them not try it on. Never assume that a medium will fit you because you always wear a medium. All companies sizing charts are slightly different. Example: Descente makes some great Snowboarding pants, yet for the life of me I can't seem to get one leg into a large, but an Orage pant in large: I swim in. The key is trying on and seeing what feels great. There's nothing worse than feeling stuffed into your jacket or you have to ski with the top button of your pants undone.
