GORD'S KIDS BIKE TRADE-IN PROGRAM
We finally have a plan to get your kid riding a decent bike! Too many kids are forced to ride crappy bikes just because they have the misfortune of growing. Don't punish your progeny or make them adopt drastic growth-stunting measures in order to start riding decent bikes.
Yes, we understand, it's difficult to justify spending good money on something that will only last a year or two until little Tracy out-grows it (that's the problem with good bikes: THEY LAST).
To help you out we've devised a plan that we may or may not have stolen from other retailers in Canada. It's called a Kid's Bike Trade In Program and hopefully, it'll help sway you away from bikes that are too big for Timmy or simply too cheap for Bobby to have any fun on.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Like the guy on the Sopranos says: Don't worry about it, it's not that complicated. Here's how it works: [a] You buy a kids bike from us [b] You register for the trade-in program [c] Your child uses the bike for one season [d] You return his/her bike before April 1 of the following year [e] you get a 50% credit towards the purchase of another kids bike (to continue in the trade-in program) or an adult bike (to exit the program). Simple. Great.
Now what's your excuse? Come on! Put your child on a good bike and see what a tremendous difference it makes. See them enjoy riding more, see them WANT to go outside and ride. Go ahead, just for a moment imagine what it would be like to ride a 150 pound bike. That's the kind of weight differential your kid is dealing with when on a cheap-o-matic 3000.
RULES OF ENGAGEMENT
Like everything in life, there's fine print. read the following carefully, we wouldn't want any misunderstandings... Let's be absolutely clear about the rules of engagement, shall we?
[1] This program only applies to kids bikes that we have in stock.
[2]
You buy a new kid's bike during 2008, you sign up for the program (cost is a one-time fee of $25 (and that covers as many trade-ins as your child will require at the rate of one per year).
[3] You use the bike at your leisure during this summer (winter riding is prohibited).
[4] You must return the bike BEFORE April 1 2009 (no exceptions, if you miss the deadline, our deal is off).
[5] Like a car lease return, The bike must not have been abused and show excessive wear. If so an extra charge or nullification of the agreement may result.
[6]
When you return the bike we'll inspect it, and following said inspection we'll credit you for half (1/2) (50%) of what you paid for the bike (minus accessories and add-ons that you'll get to keep anyways).
[7] You can then use the credit towards any in-stock kid's bike provided it's for the original
registered kid.
[8] You can't skip a year.
[9] If you go past the April 1
deadline, you can not partake in the credit.
[10] You can not transfer the program to anyone. The program is only valid with the original registered kid.
[11] When your child no-longer fits kids bikes, you can opt out of the program by purchasing an adult bike (we qualify all 26" tired bikes as "adult") in that instance you will get 50% of your final year towards any adult bike.
[12] This program is only valid with pedal equipped bike with wheel sizes SMALLER than what the industry refers to as 26".
[13] All accessories, upgrades and add-ons and repairs that you did to your bike are extra and do not fall into the Trade-In program.
[14] All our kids bikes qualify for this program.
[15] BMX Bikes are excluded from this program.
[16] "Dirt Jumping" of bikes will result in termination
of program.
[17] Only one trade-in per year following the year you purchased the bike (you couldn't buy a bike and trade it in in the same season).
[18] We won't accept trade-ins
for bikes purchased before April 1 2008 and we will only take back bikes that were registered for the program when initially purchased.
[19] We don't take off-the-street trade ins.
[20] This program has no cash value.
[21] This is a per-season program. All seasons reset on April 1.
[22] We reserve the right to terminate any program at any time.
